Dystopian design themes of goth, grunge and dominatrix styles emphasize the use of intense blacks, while other staples, including pure whites, grey and neutrals provide a contrasting sense of serenity. Green and pink continue to lead the fashion colors, while blue and purple are announcing their big returns. 

Looking closer at the fashionable shades, colors played a mimicry role by driving nature-centric narratives: Earthy and warm tones mirror the soil, burgundy recalls winery notes and roots, as well as blush pinks and faded yellows that represent the subsoil, the mycelium, as our primary life source. Driven by the same enriched future aesthetic, a cooler lilac note is set to embody the metaverse and its phantasmagoric mood.
