The most preppy micro trend

Fashion trends have been leaning heavily on nostalgia recently. Named after New York’s Plaza Hotel, the look takes inspiration from the place’s iconic clientele, both real and fictional. The trend turns the story of Eloise, the character who lived at the  top of the address in the 1950s book series into a reality. Think 90s Chanel blend with Gossip Girl’s Blair Waldorf. For the look, preppy essentials, as manifested across recent runways take the lead: Tweed twin sets, Peter Pan collar dresses and blouses, bow-tie pieces, pearl embellished accessories and Mary Janes that imbue an Upper East Side elegance with  vintage sophistication.
