The interest in light overcoats has grown by 44% in online searches over the last year, especially across the Italian market. One of the highlights from the season’s runways are the new windbreakers, which add a technical and sporty feel to the season. The piece captures the outdoor spirit that is more and more relevant during summer season. The trench coat, being an iconic product, remains a safe bet for the next spring. Interest in the trench coat is growing by 18% over the year (Google Search). Favor a classic evergreen style with masculine/feminine details that convey the heritage of the brand. 

Color Boosting coats are showing considerable visibility on Instagram, as well as in the retail market. The trend does not seem to be waning with a 61% increase across SS22 shows; defining it as a safe trend for SS23. The soft vest is a perfect transitional accessory. The vest is hyper-functional, practical and genderless; it can be worn at different times of the season and styled in interesting layered silhouettes. Think of the vest as a new alternative for sets, paired with shorts, skirts or trousers.

Leather coats are predicted to grow 10% year on year and for spring they take on bright pastel colors for fashionable brands.

The safari jacket has always proved to be a classic, but currently the trend makes even more sense with functional and outdoor-driven trends across the market. In its feminine version, this garment, which will reach its peak of interest between the end of February and April, should not be missing in your spring summer 2023 collection range.
