Resort 2022 : Trend Highlights

Ready for Normality

The 2022 Resort Shows have shown to embrace the current transition into a post-pandemic period. The mood-enchanting and positive spirits, which were essential to FW22 runways, have been maintained within those Pre-Summer collections. There is an omnipresent nod to holiday themes, including new must-haves like the bucket hat, off-the shoulder styles, xl-bermudas and sporty drawstring styles. Matching this eclectic mood, rainbow stripes, favored in knits, and lime-green color highlights are sustaining the statement character of Resort presentations.

Another big trend, which embraces the versatility and trans-seasonal qualities of the season, is the layering of dresses on long-sleeves. This layered styling was favored by numerous designers and alludes to the returning rhythms of daily life, which demand seamless transitions from day to night, again. Looking towards the evening, summery sparkles, including sequins and holographic styles, as well as glossy vinyls and opulent chains, are introducing a joyful party spirit. The current obsession with the early 2000s, combined with the mood for dancing, has also surfaced the raver pant. Such cargo styles not only feed the nostalgic craze, but offer comfort and function at the same time. Lastly, Tweed has been updated in new, slightly rebellious ways.  If used in flashy colors, printed or combined with denim or on generally more contemporary silhouettes, the classic material feels surprisingly new on the Resort Runways.
