For FW22 designers have looked towards the otherworldly for print inspiration. From extraterrestrial animal updates and botanics that seem gaming-appropriate to digital distortions, the buzzwords NFT and metaverse have strongly influenced graphic choices. As a rather somber season, those prints resonate a distinct sense of dystopia. Attached to this villainous spirit, bold slogans with daring messages and undressing X-Ray prints introduced fresh and subversive ideas. With a turn towards more local and terrestrial spheres, novelty is proposed with landscape prints. This scenic influence is strongly impacted by our quest for new territory and translates various graphics that are directly inspired by our surroundings or by our imagination of far-away places. More abstractly, heritage and ethnic designs allude to our communal awakening and traces of soil that feel faded and organic are offering a calming vibe. Talking about heritage, archive florals, asian wallpapers and updated tailoring patterns were a favored designer’s choice for FW22.
