FW22 Knit: Luxe Texture

Soft Touch

Knitwear was a hit at shows in all the capital cities, from London with the most extravagant outfits to Milan and Paris. For winter 2022, knitwear remains highly visible (1590 outfits), even if the trend is slightly decreasing, certainly winter is the season of the maximum expression of knitwear. Another data is very important about knitwear: the 45% increase in sales of knitwear garments recorded in America and the United Kingdom. It could be predicted that the wool products category will be the next big thing in the luxury industry.

In fact, knitwear is getting a luxe upgrade for FW22. with sheer effects and delicate openworks exploring the idea of revealing skin and brushed yarns and subtle textures affecting the skin through their literal touch, a new idea of luxe textures is sweeping across the runways. From accessoires to knit sets and jumpers, products that seem dipped in pure and neutral palettes are resonating a distinct sense of softness. Textured textiles grew by +17% and were featured in more than 570 looks. Their impact is undoubtable and proposes a safe trend for FW22 and the seasons ahead. Elevating basics or proposing a new luxe leisure wardrobe, calm, yet crafted knits feel more mindful and connected to human essentials than they did before.
