Last winter season, snowy mountain-scapes have already emerged as a narrative across the runways, climaxing in MiuMiu’s outdoor show telling us a tale of mid-winter highlands. This season, modern hunters & gatherers are offering emblematic looks that embed those ideas that center around local culture, the outdoors and the self. Wrapped in crafted knits, unexpectedly trimmed with furs and natural finds, a new head-to-toe cocoon is guarding such neo nomads in their habitat.
Ski and snow holidays have experienced an intense boom this past winter and confirm the taste for mountaineering. Yet opposed to the glitzy St Moritz ski trip, this new story focuses more on spiritual healing, rooting in nature and on mindful recollection rather than a show-off. Connecting deeply to the planet and our heritage translates into purified color palettes and purposely imperfect finishes. Blanket-dressing and balaclavas are new essentials next to fur ruffs and textured boots. Landscapes translate into sedimental patterns, cloudy textures and literal scenery depictions. Authentic materials, including shearling, bulky knits and leather are other components of choice for the new winter traveller that strives for holistic and rural comforts. .
