FW22: Goth Glam

The recent FW22 runways have shown a distinct taste for subcultures. For this season, the current generation of designers looked towards grunge, punk and goth to create visual communities that reflect more subversive points of view. As the tendency for extravagant dress remains prominent, a distinct Goth Glam has filled the catwalks now. Oscillating between romanticism and revolt the look is taking us back to the eccentric subcultural scene of the late millenial. While interests in subjects around witchcraft and myth are amping up across consumers, the mystic and dark subculture translates those consumer desires.

Harmonies of black, delicate lace, powerful leathers, and indulgent velvets are building wardrobes that guide consumers into a universe of nocturnal dreams. Mystic goth elements, including crosses, symbols and writings, translates a taste for the otherworldly and unknown. This more fictional vibe also sees designers proposing styles that can easily turn into impactful avatar skins, now that gaming is celebrating a strong momentum.
