SS23 Men: Shoes

Era of the hybrid shoe. For Summer 2023, designers are exploring familiar styles with a more experimental approach. By building on the familiarity of products like boat shoes, loafers, western boots or oxfords, bolder recompositions and silhouettes are mixing for a balanced and contemporary feel. Turning those classics into mules is mixing the hyper for comfy slides with the look of a sophisticated product. Overall, nostalgia and futurism collide. Retro looks, like fisherman sandals, flip flops, rubber boots or sports sneaker see a reinterpretation with surprising volumes or exciting materials. The most edgy look that was proposed on the season’s catwalks certainly saw the thigh-high that has been a hot trend on last womenswear shows explore the market as an indicator for a liberated and new masculinity. But from Slides to sneakers and boots, there are interesting take-aways for men to be drawn from the leading designers this season.
