Hardcore Hazard

Looking back with a clearer perspective, the pandemic was not only a moment of forced isolation, they forced a deep moment of reflection onto society. People started reconsidering their lifestyle and their goals, and most important, they had plenty of time to elaborate on society’s flaws. Gen Z emerged as the undiscussed protagonist from the chaotic climate and made their voice heard. One of the many issues they had to face was censorship: younger generations want to express their freedom through sexual liberation, as lots of subcultural movements used to aim at over past decades, though it is through social media that their message is delivered more widely. Opinions on sexual freedom is often displayed and even more often, removed. Due to the connecting powers of social media, voices were still able to gather together and form a louder echo, giving way to a new kind of sexual dressing, a kinky aesthetic tailored that is not there to provoke but to educate and to free society from stereotypes. Through body-con silhouettes, harness structures, lacing, body chains, latex materials and see-through pieces, sexuality aligns with our digital era, not hiding in night clubs anymore, but being daylight visible on our screens.
