Pre Fall 22: Colors, Materials & Prints

Recollection in tranquillity

The past year’s focus on mental health impacted fashion’s approach to colors. Today, designers are exploring the calming and energizing properties of color palettes all at once. While summer is over, Pre-Fall 22 shows that colorful design is not. Not only is there a strong growth in vivid colors, with new highlights of hybrid blues and strong yellow, but steady trends from the past season, such as lime green, are remaining strong. The next step are rainbow shades and eccentric combinations of colorful tones. Those new palettes are lifting the mood and send a signal for hope and positivity. The trend for deep browns is evolving as well. Its earthy reference and naturalistic appearance is resonating well with consumers and sends familiar notes. Novel camouflages and authentic camo designs are stepping into that natural and earthy trend and transfer our environment onto our clothes. In opposition, metallics and glossy finishes keep adding a futuristic shade that reminds us of the metaverse and the exciting race towards an intangible world. While a new realm is awaiting classic materials like denim, leather and tweed are strong and keep reassuring clients. The need for familiarity is essential to balance out the galactic and glitzy garments and ground collections in commercial wearability.
