Jacquards are a material that reminds us of interior design. A fabric, which recalls paintings of the Renaissance, when home textiles and clothing materials seemed to speak the same language. It can be interpreted in a multitude of ways. On the one hand, there is a vintage, romantic spirit embedded within Jacquard. By using grey and dusty colors, as for Yuhan Wang, this soft nostalgia is captured successfully. At Saint Laurent, Jacquard is understood as a symbol of bourgeois sophistication and at Gucci, the material turns into the canvas of expression for their monogram. The trend material Jacquard is in force for men as well (opulent and baroque for Dolce&Gabbana). And giving a boost of color and modernity at Louis Vuitton.
The jacquard fabric had already announced its comeback during the FW21 shows (+45%), but thanks to its visibility at the men’s shows and Resort collections, Livetrend technology classifies the trend as of one of the hottest fabrics directions for 2022.
