The classic print that never seems to go out of style now popped up in every big fashion capital. From the fashion shows: Burberry, Celine, Dolce & Gabbana, Caroline Herrera, MaxMara, presented statement dots in their collections, just to name a few. And it is no coincidence that on Instagram there are over 3 million posts with hashtags #polkadots and #pois full of outfits.
On average, premium brands have 14 polka dot printed pieces in their SS19 collection. The brands that have focused the most on this print are Claudie Pierlot and Liu-Jo which contain about twenty polka-dot parts between rtw and accessories. Claudie remained classic with an optical effect of black and white while Liu-Jo treated the polka dots in patchwork, mixing the leopard and the foulard effect, for a very successful result.
The polka dots are in seventh position in the season’s top 10 print, just after the checks.
