The leopard has become a classic, an essential part of the collections. The SS19 runaways had already brought to light a series of animal prints to lose your head and on the fashion shows of the 2019-20 winter season, the leopard is doubled! So we’re not done hearing about it.
Let’s now return to the analysis of premium collections. The leopard is often highlighted in shops, display and windows but the truth is that it represents only 1.5% of the RTW and 4% of the accessories. In the sphere of animal prints, it represents 61%, meanwhile the python is at 26%.
Overall, the leopard represents 5.3% of the premium collections and has lost almost 3% compared to winter 2018.
Net-A-Porter has even doubled its buy of leopard-print pieces since last season, following on from the success of that Ganni dress – an instant sell-out.
The interest is also on the part of the customer, as Goggle trends attests: the search “Animal print 2019” on Google has increased by +4250% over the last year. The pieces sought are first the wrap dress, then pants and boots.
