While skirts are generally providing comfort and ease, contemporary and simplified streamlined styles are embracing new ideas on simplicity, purpose and a non-fuzz aesthetic. Similarly, the plissé and pleated styles, composing a total of 201 looks during the FW21 shows, are feeding into a more elevated and sophisticated aesthetic. However, they can be adjusted to younger consumers through experimental plays with length, print or asymmetry. Pleats also respond to the tactile needs that people are seeking for after a long touch-less and texture-less period and add movement. Another key-skirt that alludes to texture through its 3-dimensional characteristics is the full volume skirt (11% of skirt assortment). Not only does it embrace the trend for flamboyant styles and sheers, it is also flattering on a majority of body types.
